The Sam Davis Trophy 2013

The Sam Davis Trophy 2013, a 50 bird Skeet competition, was shot over two consecutive Thursday evenings 9th and 16th May 2013. The conditions on the first evening were good, but it was very windy on the second and this was reflected in the final scores posted. The eventual winner and High Gun was Bob Barnsley (for the second year running) with a score of 44 Ex50. First place in Class A went to Roger Pugh 42 Ex50 and first place in Class B to Peter Dillistone 40 Ex50.

 

The Sporting Handicap 2013

The Sporting Handicap 2013 was shot on Thursday 23rd May 2013 in good, but cold, conditions. The event, a 50 bird handicapped Sporting shoot, was well attended by members and visitors alike. The winner and High Gun with an adjusted score of 54 was Rob Thomas. First place went to Dave Bayliss (52) and Second Place to John Fudge (51). The President, Nigel Kavanagh, presented the trophy and prizes and thanked eveyone for their attendance.

 

Kidderminster Gun Club v Brockton Gun Club 2013

our annual inter-club shoot versus Brockton Gun Club, at Kidderminster, took place on Thursday 30th May 2013. The visiting team numbered in excess of 30 and put the home team on the back foot. The competition was close, however, with Brockton running out winners with an aggregate score of 297 against 281 for Kidderminster (the scores were the aggregate of the top ten scores from each team). High Gun for Brockton was Ian Parkinson with a score of 38 Ex50 and for Kidderminster Richard Thomas 39 Ex50. The club President thanked the members from Brockton for an excellent competition and said that Kidderminster members looked forward to the return fixture at Brockton on Wednesday 12th June. The ABT Cup 2013

The ABT Cup 2013 was shot on two consecutive Thursday evening's, 6th and 13th June 2013. The winner and High Gun was Richard Thomas with a score of 46 Ex50, first in class A went to Rob Thomas (39 Ex50). Ffirst place in Class B went jointly to Nigel Kavanagh and Barry Salt who both scored 28 Ex50.

 

Brockton Gun Club v Kidderminster Gun Club

Our annual away shoot at Brockton took place on Wednesday 12th June 2013 and 9 members made the journey to Brockton. We were soundly beaten but as a consolation prize Richard Thomas was High Gun for the evening with a superb score of 48 Ex50.

 

The All-Rounder 2013

The competition is a straight 100 bird shoot, 50 Sporting, 25 Skeet and 25 ABT and was shot on Thursday 20th June 2013. The turnout was very good and the weather allowed for some good scoring to be achieved. The winner and High Gun was Mr Richard Thomas with a score of 87 Ex100 and first in class A went to Mr Rob Thomas (77 Ex100). First place in class B went to Mr D French (48 Ex100).

 

The Sporting Cup 2013

The Sporting Cup is a straight 50 bird sporting competition open, as usual, to all members. It was shot on Thursday 27th June 2013. The weather conditions were not good and the targets were very testing. The number of members who shot the competition were well down on previous competitions. The winner and High Gun was Mr Rob Thomas with a score of 40 Ex50, first place in class A went to Mr Nigel Kavanagh (37 Ex50). First place in Class B went to Mr John Preece (29 Ex50).

 

Handicap Skeet 2013

The Handicap Skeet Competition was shot on two consecutive Thursday evening's, 4th and 11th July 2013. The winner and High Gun was Mr John Preece with an adjusted score of 61.2, first place went to Nigel Kavanagh (48.6) and second place to Ray Cook (47.2).

 

The DTL Cup 2013

The DTL Cup 2013, a 50 bird DTL competition, was shot on two consecutive Thursday evening's 18th and 25th July 2013. The winner and High Gun was Richard Thomas with a score of 129 Ex150, first place in class A went to Rob Thomas (124 Ex150) and first place in class B to Ray Wesson (77 Ex150)

 

The Trappers Handicap 2013

The Trappers Handicap was shot on Thursday 1st August 2013. The handicap competition consisted of 50 bird Sporting and 25 bird Skeet. The winner and High Gun was Rick Willetts with an adjusted score of 74.9, first place went to Peter Trice (72.3) and second place to George Whitehouse (68.1). The Presidents Cup 2013

The Presidents Cup was shot on two consecutive Thursday evening's 8th and 15th August 2013. The 50 bird competition was well attended and the shooting conditions were good. The final scores resulted in a tie for High Gun with Bob Barnsley and Ray Wesson both scoring 44 Ex50. A final shoot off round saw Bob Barnsley clinch the High Gun prize by beating Ray Wesson by one target 23 v 22. First Place in Class A went to Ray Wesson (44 Ex50) and first place in class B to George Whitehouse (39 Ex50).

 

Sportsmans Trophy 2013

The final competition night of the season took place on Thursday 22nd August 2013. The Sportsmans Trophy was a 50 bird handicapped Sporting competition and the shooting conditions were very good. The eventual winner and High Gun was Barry Salt with an adjusted score of 48.7, first place went to Bob Barnsley (47.7) and second place to Ray Cook (47.2).

 

Veterans Trophy 2013

The veterans trophy for 2013 was also decided on Thursday 22nd August 2013, the competition being based on an age related handicap. The Winner for 2013 was Rob Thomas with an adjusted score of 44.4, second was John Fudge (40.6) and third place went to Bob Barnsley (39.6).

 

High Pheasant Trophy 2013

The third and final round of the High Pheasant Trophy also took place on Thursday 22nd August. The competition was decided by combining the three high pheasant scores from each of the sporting handicapped competitions shot during the season. The runaway winner for 2013 was Nigel Kavanagh with a total score of 32.5 Ex30, second place went to Barry Salt (26.0) and third place to Ray Cook (24.7).

 

The Aggregate Shield 2013

The Aggregate Shield is presented each year to the person who has the highest combined score from their best 7 club competitions. The winners of the Aggregate Shield for 2013 is Bob Barnsley with a score of 303.4, second place went to Ray Cook (288.53) and third place to Nigel Kavangh (284.83).
